My customer for this Mission-style bench found its picture and plan in a magazine so I take no design credit for it. In the original plan the three drawers are fully functional. This customer asked for false drawer faces and to modify the seat to be hinged so it could be raised to reveal a large storage area.

The mission-bench is built with quarter-sawn white oak and stained to resemble authentic mission-style furniture. It could, however, be built using other wood species.

I have made a few of these benches, all in different sizes based on the space needs of my customers. A small one is shown below left.
